Health care is a very important service provided to the population. The health services provided by health institutions are aimed at ensuring the health of members of society, maintaining and restoring the capacity of the workforce, and are thus deeply involved in creating the material conditions for human existence, in continuously improving the quality of life. The management of health services is approached differently by each category of actors involved: government, health facility management, professionals and patients.

The hospital is a public health unit of local interest, providing medical services, with 200 beds distributed in wards and compartments. The medical services provided by the hospital are: preventive, curative, rehabilitation, pregnancy and maternity care and newborn care. Legally, financially and in terms of structure and organization, it is subordinated to the Gheorgheni Local Council. The hospital operates according to the organizational structure approved by the Order of the Minister of Health no.619/01.06.2010.

In 1991 a new construction was started and completed in 2008, with 165 beds; to which is added, at the same time, a chronic - internal diseases compartment with 10 beds located in Ditrău Commune and an external infectious diseases ward with 25 beds located in Carpați street no.14; in total 200 beds per hospital (organizational structure). In the hospital there are wards and compartments with beds, medical departments and an ambulatory for medical specialties. It provides conditions for medical investigations and diagnosis, treatment, accommodation, hygiene, nutrition and prevention of nosocomial infections, participating in ensuring the health of the population. In our work we base ourselves on: -respecting the right to health protection of all categories of the population, the right to choose a doctor and a health unit and equal opportunities; -guaranteeing the quality and safety of the medical act; -ensuring wide accessibility to emergency, ambulatory and hospital services; -ensuring high standards of professional skills and encouraging their continuous development.
